What was originally supposed to be a glorious golden hour shoot got shot down when the hills of Escondido, CA gave us shade. L I T E R A L L Y. That and the original location had recent regulations against photography post. Once again, literally. I'm usually not so lax about my sessions. I had a vision. I did. BUT, I forgot to take into account that there were giant hills in the area. I'm human, I make mistakes. Luckily, this client is my sister; and that bump is my soon to be third niece who is due late December.
SO, after driving around on some windy roads and we decided to try Lake Hodges Reservoir and had to plan for an 11:00 am shoot instead of a golden hour/sunset shoot. Lake Hodges was M A G I C. Despite it not being sunset. Despite my original vision being shat on by those hills (damn you, hills!). There was still magic to be had. Magic in images. Magic in response when my sister said that she didn't know she could photograph so well. Magic in the fact that I got to style and capture my older sister's only maternity session.
